The Syracuse Mets bounced back from Saturday’s heartbreaking loss with a 6-4 victory over the Worcester Red Sox on Sunday afternoon at Polar Park. With the win, the two teams split the six-game series.
Connor Grey started on the mound for Syracuse and allowed a pair of runs over four innings while striking out six. Trey Cobb and Eric Orze each allowed a run in relief, and Locke St. John had a scoreless outing.
Travis Blankenhorn homered twice for Syracuse, while Khalil Lee and Daniel Johnson also went yard. Blankenhorn, Johnson, and Hayden Senger each had multi-hit games.
Syracuse will begin a seven-game series with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Tuesday night at NBT Bank Stadium. The first pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
