The Newark Reds great season has come to an end with a 45-30 loss to the Allegany-Limestone Gators in the New York State Class B Far West Regional at Buffalo State College on Saturday night.
Allegany-Limestone led after every quarter, but didn’t pull away until the second half. Newark trailed by three at the end of the first quarter and seven at the break. Allegany-Limestone outscored Newark 26-18 in the second half to earn the 15-point victory.
Raeshawn Howard and Isaiah Camp each scored nine points to lead the Reds. Brayden Steve, Gabriel Caraballo and Stevie Brown Jr. also scored in the loss.
Tyler Curran scored a game-high 22 points for Allegany-Limestone.
The Gators will face the winner of Ichabod Crane (II) vs. Plattsburgh (VII) in the NYS semifinal next Saturday at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.
