In December 2021, students in the Health Professions program at Wayne Technical Career Center (WTCC) were awarded their Personal Care Aide (PCA) certifications. WTCC is the first secondary school in New York State to offer this certification.
One of the program’s instructors, Rachel Higbee, announced a revamping of the Health Professions program that now gives students the opportunity to earn five certifications over two years. Those certifications include Personal Care Aide (PCA), CPR, First Aid, Home Health Aide (HHA), and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Students also earn dual credit from Finger Lakes Community College.
