$975 cash payment deadline is extended to December 31, here’s how to apply

Pennsylvania residents have a chance to claim a cash payment worth up to $975 before the new year.

The cash is available through the property tax and rent rebate program in Pennsylvania only.

By law the deadline every year is June 30, but in Oct. it was announced that those eligible would have until Dec. 31 because funds are still available.

Who is eligible and how do they apply?

Residents of Pennsylvania that are 65 and older, widows age 50 and older, or people with disabilities ages 18 and olds are all eligible for the rebates.

Homeowners cannot make over $35,000 per year and renters may not make over $15,000 per year.

One half of social security income is excluded.

The maximum someone can get is $650 per household depending on income.

Supplemental rebates for eligible homeowners can be as high as $975.

If filing online you can choose direct deposit and get help filing for the rebate.

Documentation showing property taxes and rent paid are required. The rebates began being sent July 1.

You will receive an automated call for when your application is received as well as when it is approved.
