Governor Cuomo announced Thursday that there will be a $7.7 million dollar construction project in Cortland County to help combat families at risk of homelessness.
The Grace Brown House will provide 25 homes and services to families. The house will have a single three story building with 18 one bedroom apartments and 7 two bedroom apartments.
Units will be reserved for families who are are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. The support services will be provided by the YWCA of Cortland.
All apartments are going to be affordable for household earning at or below 50 percent of the area median income.
Subsidies from the Homes and Community Renewal, the Homeless Housing and Assistance Program, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority are being used to support this project.
