Felony weapon charges after search warrant executed at address where 2019 murder occurred in Auburn

The Finger Lakes Drug Task Force says a ghost gun and synthetic drugs were recovered after a search warrant was executed on Delevan Street in Auburn.

New York State Police and the Auburn Police Department assisted, as one Auburn resident was taken into custody on a number of charges.

Scott Corey Sr., 43, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. All of those charges are felonies, police said.

The search and arrest took place at the same address as where a man was shot-and-killed in 2019.

The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office is handling the case.
