Democrats will primary each other in 24th District to challenge Rep. Katko in November

There is going to be a primary in the 24th Congressional District.

Francis Canole secured backing of the Onondaga County Democrats, according to Finger Lakes News Radio.

Dana Balter, who ran a competitive race against Rep. John Katko in 2018 has been successfully campaigning throughout the district. She’s expected to challenge Canole in a primary, according to Syracuse.com.

Roger Misso, a Wayne County native, says he’ll announce later this week whether he’ll participate in the primary contest.

Katko has been in office three terms, and is seeking a fourth.
