The Ontario County Board of Supervisors received an overview of the future plans for Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) during their meeting on March 28. The comprehensive facilities master plan, presented by County Planner Tom Harvey along with officials from LaBella Associates, outlines the development and restructuring of FLCC over the next two decades.

The plan, which still requires approval from the Board of Supervisors, the FLCC Board of Trustees, and the State University of New York, suggests significant changes to adapt to evolving educational demands and demographic shifts. Notable adjustments include the proposed closure of the underutilized Victor campus by 2030 and enhancements to athletic facilities and the college’s eSports program between 2030 and 2035.

Further into the future, from 2035 to 2045, the plan recommends the introduction of a culinary/hospitality program and a reorganization of administrative and creative services facilities. This strategy aims to repurpose existing spaces rather than expand, reflecting a shift from the college’s previous expansion plans to more efficiently use campus resources amid fluctuating enrollment and regional demographic changes.
