The White House highlighted billions of dollars in announced Michigan manufacturing investments Monday as Vice President JD Vance visited the state.
The administration cited a $6 billion General Motors investment in U.S. manufacturing, including work at its Orion Township plant, and a $3 billion Ford investment expected to create 1,700 jobs at BlueOval Battery Park in Marshall.
Other projects cited include Stellantis investments in Van Buren Township, Detroit and Warren, a planned data center campus in Saline Township, and expansions by Corning, GE Aerospace and several smaller manufacturers.
The White House also pointed to additional shifts or recalled workers at several auto-related facilities. The release did not provide a timetable for all of the announced investments or independently calculate how many jobs have already been filled.
