Professionals in human services, health care, education and nonprofit work will gather Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Hotel Canandaigua for a regional symposium focused on preventing burnout and building healthier workplaces.
The 2026 Regional Resilience Symposium will feature psychotherapist and workplace-wellness speaker Françoise Mathieu. Registration costs $100 per person and includes a catered lunch.
Keynote will focus on compassion and stress
Mathieu will deliver a keynote titled, "The Edge of Compassion: Key Tools to Stay Grounded." She will also lead an executive leadership breakout session on creating workplaces that respond to secondary traumatic stress.
Organizers said participants will receive evidence-informed tools for addressing workplace stress, supporting personal and organizational well-being and preventing burnout.
Breakouts will cover workplace challenges
Additional breakout sessions will cover leadership, accountability, stress management, neurodiversity in the workplace, mental fitness and workforce-development strategies. The event is intended for employees and leaders from human services, health care, schools, nonprofits and Community Action Agencies.
The symposium is being organized by Pro Action of Steuben and Yates Inc., the Institute for Human Services and Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston. Organizers are also seeking event sponsors.
