Auburn firefighters rescued a dog that became trapped about six feet beneath a Washington Street driveway after entering a woodchuck hole, the department said.
The Auburn Fire Department was called to the scene around 8 a.m., where a truck company found that the dog had traveled into the hole and could not get out.
Firefighters gained access through a crawl space beneath the house and located the dog under the driveway.
Crews brought the animal to safety. The department said the dog was doing well with its family at last report.
