Man credited with saving four after fatal Naples crash

A Perinton man is being credited with saving four people from a fiery crash in Ontario County that killed a Naples man and two dogs.

Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione said the crash happened Wednesday afternoon on County Road 12 in Naples.

Investigators said a northbound SUV driven by Morgan Gliedman, 40, of Steuben County, crossed into the opposite lane and hit a pickup truck towing a fifth-wheel camper.

The pickup caught fire, trapping 71-year-old Brian Johnson, who died at the scene. Johnson’s two dogs also died.

Sheriff’s officials said Luke Spara, 34, of Perinton, pulled Gliedman and her two children from their SUV and helped Johnson’s wife escape the burning pickup.

Cirencione said all five surviving occupants likely would have died without Spara’s actions.
