Drivers on I-390 in Livingston County should expect lane reductions beginning Tuesday, July 7, as state crews start pavement rehabilitation work between the Steuben County line and Exit 6.
The New York State Department of Transportation said I-390 will be reduced to one lane in each direction from the Steuben County line in the town of North Dansville to Exit 6, which connects with State Route 36 in the town of Groveland.
Work is scheduled for weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Crews will begin at the Steuben County line and move north before completing the southbound lanes.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-October, weather permitting.
DOT said a separate project that would have affected State Route 408, also known as State Street, and State Route 436, also known as Mill Street, in Nunda has been postponed until later this summer.
Motorists should expect delays during the I-390 work and seek alternate routes if necessary. Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and two or more work-zone speeding convictions can lead to a driver's license suspension.
