Geneva businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 through the city's Microenterprise Assistance Program.
The city received Community Development Block Grant funding for the program from the New York State Office of Community Renewal, according to an announcement from Geneva's Department of Planning and Economic Development.
Applicants must operate or plan to establish an eligible business within the city of Geneva. Complete eligibility guidelines, application materials, program updates and question-and-answer documents are available through the city's website at CityofGenevaNY.gov.
The city will offer an orientation session at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the second-floor conference room at Geneva City Hall, 47 Castle St. The session will also be streamed online, with access information available through the city's program materials.

All questions about the application process must be submitted in writing to Sutton by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Completed applications must reach the city by 4 p.m. Sept. 30 to be considered for funding.
The Microenterprise Assistance Program is intended to direct state community-development funding to qualifying small businesses and entrepreneurs in Geneva. The city's published guidelines will determine which applicants and proposed uses qualify for an award.
