Geneva City Council is set to consider a series of downtown development, housing and property measures when it meets July 1 at City Hall.
The regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the second-floor council chambers at 47 Castle St., following a 6 p.m. executive session to discuss litigation and collective negotiations. The meeting also will be streamed on the city's YouTube channel.
One item would authorize the city to support a New York Main Street Downtown Anchor Grant application for 1 Railroad Place. According to the agenda packet, the proposed project would renovate the downtown mixed-use building, add a second-floor professional office and create one apartment unit, along with facade improvements.
City staff said the building owners would cover all project costs beyond the grant funding and that no city match would be required.
Council also is expected to set a public hearing for 2026 Community Development Block Grant applications. Another item would set a hearing on the possible conveyance of city-owned property on Maryland Street, identified in the packet as parcels 90.84-1-3, 90.84-1-4 and 90.84-1-5.
A separate resolution would set a public hearing related to repair or demolition proceedings for 555 South Exchange St. under city code.
The agenda also includes a presentation by Geneva Parks Collective, discussion of 2027 budget revenue projections, proclamations for Parks and Recreation Month, Independence Day and Lake and Watershed Stewardship Recognition, and appointments to boards and commissions.
Council is also expected to consider minutes from meetings held May 27, June 3, June 16 and June 17.
