State Route 21 near the County Route 66 intersection in the Town of Hornellsville will close to traffic beginning Monday, June 29, for a culvert replacement project, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
The closure in Steuben County is expected to remain in place through the end of August.
Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour using Interstate 86. DOT said drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes if needed.
Construction work is weather dependent and may change based on conditions.
DOT urged motorists to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and two or more work-zone speeding convictions can result in a driver license suspension.
