The county is also offering a $3,000 enhancement payment upon successful completion of probation, along with an annual hazard duty payment of $2,500. Officials noted that nurses holding temporary permits are eligible to apply, with permits accepted for up to one year.

Benefits include participation in the New York State Retirement System as well as medical and dental insurance. The county said employees may choose between a free high-deductible health plan or a co-pay plan with 95% employer funding.

County officials described the positions as an opportunity to join a nationally accredited correctional healthcare team while providing medical care to inmates at the Ontario County Jail.
