Boil water order lifted for affected Waterloo properties

Residents and businesses on portions of West Elizabeth and Center streets in Waterloo can resume normal water use after health officials lifted a boil water order issued earlier this week.

The Seneca County Health Department announced Friday that the advisory affecting properties at 4-56 West Elizabeth St. and 17-38 Center St. has been lifted following water quality testing.

According to the health department, water sampling confirmed there is no bacteria present in the water distribution system serving the affected area. The boil water order was officially lifted June 5.

Officials encouraged residents to share the information with others who may not have received the notice directly, including people living in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses.

For additional information, residents can contact the Village of Waterloo or the Seneca County Health Department.
