A driver was hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash involving three tractor-trailers on the New York State Thruway in Ontario County.
The crash happened at mile marker 345 in the Town of Farmington, according to New York State Police. Authorities said one of the drivers suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and temporarily restricted traffic as first responders treated the injured driver and investigators began examining the crash. Police have not released details about what led to the collision.
As of the latest update, the left lane had reopened to traffic while the right lane remained closed for vehicle recovery and cleanup operations. An earlier traffic diversion was lifted and Exit 44 was reopened.
