Auburn could lock in a half-million dollars for its ambulance service as budget pressure mounts, according to The Citizen. City leaders will review a deal Thursday that gives Auburn Community Hospital access to city ambulances for emergency and non-emergency patient transfers.
The agreement would run from July 2026 through June 2027 and comes after the hospital expanded cardiac care services earlier this year. Auburn City Ambulance would provide advanced life support crews for transfers, including long-distance trips up to 250 miles.
City officials say the revenue could help avoid planned staffing cuts at Auburn City Ambulance. The council will also hold hearings Thursday on Auburn’s proposed budget and a local law to override the property tax cap.
