A tiny kitten left with a shattered leg now has a second chance — Smokey is recovering and ready for adoption, according to RochesterFirst.
Deputies arrested a Farmington man after they say he beat the five-month-old kitten on Christmas Day. The injuries were so severe, Smokey’s leg had to be amputated. The man later pleaded guilty and received jail time and a ban on owning animals.
Despite the trauma, Smokey bounced back with help from the Ontario County Humane Society. He’s now thriving in foster care and waiting for a permanent home, though he’ll need extra care as a three-legged cat.
