A massive power upgrade is headed to Steuben County — the Wayland Business Park just landed $16.9 million in state funding, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune.
The award comes from New York’s POWER UP program and will fund a six-mile electrical line extension. That jump will raise the site’s capacity from about two megawatts to as much as 21, making it far more attractive to large-scale manufacturers.
Leaders say the 152-acre site near I-390 could support over 1 million square feet of development. Officials hope the upgrade will draw high-growth industries and finally unlock the park’s full potential.
