Ontario County residents will have a chance next month to safely dispose of unwanted electronics as part of a countywide recycling event — but officials say spots are limited and filling quickly.
The county’s Electronic Waste Recycling Event is scheduled for May 16 from 8 a.m. to noon, with advance registration required to participate.
The free event is open exclusively to Ontario County residents and is designed to provide a responsible way to recycle items such as televisions, computers, and smaller electronic devices that can’t be placed in regular trash.
Registration opened April 20 and will remain available through May 13, or until all available spots are filled.
Officials are encouraging residents to sign up early to secure a time slot, noting strong demand for similar events in the past.
Organizers say the effort helps reduce environmental impact while keeping potentially hazardous materials out of landfills.
