Bus driver files claim after crash with sheriff trainee leaves lasting injuries

A school bus driver is taking legal action after a crash flipped his bus with students inside in Benton, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

The driver from the Penn Yan Central School District says he suffered shoulder, neck, and PTSD-related injuries when a trainee with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office ran a stop sign and hit the bus at Route 54 and Pre-Emption Road. Three students were onboard, with one treated for minor injuries.

The filing signals a possible lawsuit if no settlement is reached, as county officials have not commented on the claim.
