Auburn woman faces charges after resisting arrest in Sennett

A traffic stop early April 8 escalated into an arrest after deputies said an Auburn woman refused to comply with orders and had to be removed from her vehicle.

Cindy M. Stampp, 47, was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and moving from a lane unsafely, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies stopped Stampp’s vehicle around 12:50 a.m. on Weedsport-Sennett Road near Shepherd Road after observing it cross both the center line and fog line multiple times. Authorities said Stampp, who was the sole occupant, refused repeated commands to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests.

After multiple attempts to gain compliance, deputies physically removed her from the vehicle and transported her to the Public Safety Building for processing. She was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Sennett Town Court for the criminal charges and Brutus Town Court for the traffic violation.
