Drivers who dodged long detours will get relief soon as a 114-year-old bridge reopens April 1, according to The Citizen.
Officials shut the bridge down due to weight limits, even as many drivers kept using it as a shortcut. The closure came just after another major Route 34 bridge project began nearby.
The state will install a traffic light before reopening, while the aging 1912 bridge still carries a poor condition rating.
