A former part-time officer with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge while off duty.
Aaron Covert, who was assigned to the agency’s Security Division at the time of the incident, has since been separated from service, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Timothy J. Thompson Jr. said the conduct does not reflect the values of the organization.
Officials said Covert had served at the Seneca County Courthouse and Office Building for several years following his retirement from New York State.
Authorities directed further questions about the arrest to the agency that made the arrest.
