Rochester Regional Health announced a student loan support program aimed at recruiting workers for high-need clinical roles.
The initiative will support students training to become certified registered nurse anesthetists, surgical technologists and radiologic technologists.
The program is part of a partnership with Clasp and is intended to reduce financial barriers for students while creating a pathway to employment with Rochester Regional Health after graduation.
Under the program, eligible certified registered nurse anesthetists may receive up to $180,000 in student loan repayment support.
Graduates of surgical technology programs may receive up to $25,000 in support, while radiologic technology graduates may receive up to $30,000.
Students can apply while still in school, secure an employment commitment before graduation and begin receiving repayment support after joining Rochester Regional Health.
Health system officials said the program focuses on clinical roles that support surgical care, imaging services and emergency care.
Charlene J. Wilson, executive vice president and chief people officer at Rochester Regional Health, said the initiative aims to strengthen access to care by supporting future clinicians.
“This program is a strategic investment in the future stability of care for our community,” Wilson said.
“By helping future clinicians train and stay here, we are strengthening access to the services patients rely on, while continuing to manage our resources responsibly in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.”
