The Penn Yan Village Board will review a proposed update to the village code and consider accepting new utility infrastructure during its meeting Tuesday at Village Hall.
Trustees are scheduled to open a public hearing on a proposed local law that would adopt an updated Code of the Village of Penn Yan, replacing the current code adopted in 1993.
According to the proposal, the updated code would consolidate and revise existing local laws, repeal outdated provisions and incorporate amendments needed to comply with current New York state law.
The board will also hold a public hearing on accepting the dedication of utility infrastructure in the Keuka Moorings development from Keuka Outlet Development LLC. Trustees are expected to review a short environmental assessment form and consider a resolution accepting the utilities.
Several community events are also scheduled for consideration. The board is expected to vote on approving the Downtown Business Council’s Cruzin’ Night event on Main Street June 5, the Penn Yan Youth Baseball and Softball Parade on May 2, and the Penn Yan Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade on May 25.
Trustees will also consider allowing the United Methodist Church to hold an Easter sunrise service April 5 at Indian Pines Park.
The board is expected to review several infrastructure and finance items, including awarding a bid for the North Avenue water service project to Rochester Pipeline for $459,250 and approving the use of $166,000 from water transmission and distribution reserves to support the project.
Personnel items on the agenda include creating a part-time deputy clerk position, retroactively appointing Sonja Fredenburg to that role at $32.34 per hour, and beginning recruitment for a deputy clerk-treasurer and a lineworker position following a recent resignation.
Trustees will also consider approving a one-year lease for about 16 acres on Elmwood Avenue for $1,300 annually and authorizing a contract with Yates County for the Elm Street Trailhead project.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday in Room 202 of Village Hall, 111 Elm St.
