Investigators arrested a Bath man after authorities said he used another person’s EBT card without permission to buy items.
Shane Fox, 46, of Bath, was arrested March 4 by investigators with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities allege Fox used another person’s EBT card to make purchases between Aug. 23 and Aug. 24.
Investigators said the purchases were made without the cardholder’s permission.
Fox was charged with misuse of food stamps and petit larceny.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Bath Court.
The sheriff’s office said the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit and the district attorney’s office assisted in the investigation.
