New York State Police said troopers from SP Auburn spotted a dirt bike-style motorcycle traveling eastbound while performing wheelies in traffic.

When a trooper attempted a traffic stop, the 16-year-old operator accelerated away, passing several vehicles and continuing to perform wheelies while traveling down Genesee Street.

Police said the motorcycle approached the intersection of Genesee Street and William Street and failed to stop for a red traffic light.

The bike then struck the rear corner of a pickup truck that was traveling through the intersection on a green light.

The teen was taken by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

State police said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
