Local professionals in a leadership development program spent a day examining how healthcare systems shape Ontario County’s economy and community well-being.
Members of Leadership Ontario’s fourth cohort took part in the Community Health Program Day at the Ontario County Complex.
The session connected participants with healthcare leaders from across the region and focused on how local health systems operate and their economic impact.
Speakers included Jessica Mitchell, director of community services and Ontario County Mental Health; Ontario County Public Health Director Kate Ott; and Kurt Koczent, executive vice president and chief operating officer of UR Medicine Thompson Health.
Other speakers included Lara Turbide of UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health, James Sonnick of Finger Lakes Community Health, Hannah Smith of Rochester Regional Health’s Clifton Springs Hospital, and Dr. Robert Cole of Rochester Regional Health’s Eastern Region.
The program also explored mental health, personal resilience and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences, known as ACEs, on individuals and communities.
Leadership Ontario is a 10-month leadership development program administered by the Ontario County Chamber of Commerce.
