Ithaca gets grant to plan housing growth

The Town of Ithaca is receiving state funding to help plan for future housing development, according to WENY.

New York State awarded the town a $243,000 grant through the Pro-Housing Communities Program. Officials say the funding will support new planning technology and help leaders evaluate where and how additional housing could be built.

Town planners will use the tools to study long-term development scenarios and guide infrastructure decisions as the community grows. State Sen. Lea Webb said the funding will help local governments address housing shortages and support sustainable growth.
