Auburn PD: Traffic stop on Seymour St. leads to felony drug charges

Police say a traffic stop on Seymour Street led to the discovery of crack cocaine, fentanyl and other drug-related items.

Officers with the Auburn Police Department stopped a vehicle on Feb. 20 on Seymour Street in the city of Auburn, according to a media release issued Feb. 21.


During the investigation, officers identified the passenger as Corey Gamlen.

As the stop continued, officers found a quantity of cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine, along with a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia.

Police later searched Gamlen and found a quantity of U.S. currency and a quantity of fentanyl.

Investigators charged Gamlen with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony.

Police transported Gamlen to the Cayuga County Jail for CAP arraignment.
