A Rochester-area developer wants to bring an 89-suite Marriott hotel to Grant Avenue, according to The Citizen. Indus Hospitality unveiled plans Wednesday to build what would likely operate as a TownePlace Suites at 132-134 Grant Ave., clearing a vacant home to make room.
The extended-stay hotel would offer suites with full kitchens, plus a gym, laundry area and outdoor patio. Auburn currently lacks a dedicated extended-stay option, and local tourism officials say the market can support more rooms.
Indus hasn’t filed a formal application yet but is expected to seek tax incentives. The Auburn Industrial Development Authority says the project could boost property, hotel and sales tax revenue if approved.
