An Ithaca radio station just turned 13 hours on air into $11,710 for local families, according to WENY. Lite Rock 97.3 hosted its 13th annual Wine & Dine radiothon to benefit the United Way of Tompkins County.
The live broadcast rallied listeners, advertisers and community partners to support programs focused on education, financial stability and health services. Organizers say the event highlights how local media can drive real impact.
Since launching the fundraiser 13 years ago, the station has raised more than $160,000 for the United Way. Leaders say the partnership keeps growing stronger each year.
