Cornell men’s hockey, ranked 12th nationally, earned a 2-1 overtime victory against No. 10 Dartmouth on Friday night before a sold-out crowd of 4,267 at Lynah Rink. The Big Red improved to 13-5-0 overall and 8-3-0 in ECAC Hockey play, securing its seventh win in the last eight games and its 10th home victory of the season.
Dartmouth opened the scoring late in the first period, capitalizing on a turnover to take a 1-0 lead. Cornell answered in the second period while shorthanded, as junior forward Jake Kraft finished a break the other way to tie the game. The goal marked Cornell’s fourth short-handed tally of the season.

The Big Red carried play for much of the night, limiting Dartmouth’s top scorer Hayden Stavroff to one shot on goal. Cornell generated several quality chances on the power play late in regulation but was denied by Dartmouth goaltender Emmett Croteau, who finished with 29 saves.
Freshman goaltender Alexis Cournoyer kept the game even in the closing moments of the third period with a key stop on a breakaway, ending the night with 15 saves.
Kraft sealed the win just 34 seconds into overtime, taking a defensive-zone takeaway and beating the goalie to record his first collegiate multi-goal game. The win snapped Cornell’s regular-season winless streak against Dartmouth dating back to January 2023.
Cornell concludes its homestand on Saturday when it hosts Harvard at Lynah Rink. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
