Crowds in Seneca Falls will help shape a live comedy show when Scriptless in Seattle takes the stage next month, turning audience ideas into unscripted scenes, songs, and skits.
The Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center will present the interactive improv comedy show Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. The performance will take place at the Douglas Avery Performing Arts Center at Mynderse Academy on Troy Street.
Every show is completely made up on the spot. Performers create every line, sound, and movement live, based on audience suggestions.
“I’ve been touring with this show for years and doing improvised comedy shows for even longer,” tour manager and emcee Justin Folger said. “Out of the hundreds of shows I’ve put on, not one of them was even similar to our previous shows.”
Folger said the group builds each performance around the audience in the room that night. “The show that audiences will see is one that has never been performed before and will never be performed again,” he said.

Performer James Trombka said the wide range of audience members keeps the show fun. “I love looking out at the audiences, seeing everyone from families with young kids to couples that have been together 55 years,” he said.
Audience participation plays a big role. Volunteers can offer suggestions and even come on stage, directly influencing how scenes unfold.
“Our Seneca Falls audience should expect high-quality family-friendly entertainment,” comedian Randy Johr said. “We take suggestions from the audience and use them to create improvised musicals, film noir skits, game shows, and we’ll even serenade individual members of the audience.”
The show draws inspiration from “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Many of the sketches will feel familiar to fans of the TV series. “If you like ‘Whose Line,’ you’re in for a real treat!” Johr said.
Scriptless in Seattle tours widely and will make stops across several states this spring, along with international performances in Prague and Vienna.
Organizers thanked Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES for helping offset production costs and Mynderse Academy for hosting the event.
Tickets start at $10, and kids get in free. Tickets are available at scriptlessinseattle.com or senecafallspac.org.
