Reliable fire protection in Seneca Falls just got a boost thanks to a new donation aimed at keeping trucks supplied with water when it matters most.
The Seneca Falls Fire Department announced it received a $15,000 annual donation from Seneca Meadows landfill, continuing a partnership that dates back nearly two decades.
The department plans to use the money to replace large diameter hose used on fire apparatus. The hose plays a critical role in moving water from hydrants to fire trucks during emergencies.
Since 2007, Seneca Meadows has donated a total of $270,000 to the Seneca Falls Fire Department, according to the release.

“Seneca Meadows is a valued partner with the Seneca Falls Fire Department, and their incessant drive toward safety is a benefit for all town residents,” District Chief Steve Farnsworth said in the announcement.
The donation was recognized with department and company representatives on hand, including Deputy Chief Allen Larsen, District Chief Farnsworth, SMI Community Relations Mark Benjamin, and SMI District Manager Kyle Black.
