Canandaigua seeks parks committee members

The Town of Canandaigua is inviting residents to apply for open seats on its Parks and Recreation Committee, offering a chance to help shape the future of local parks, trails, and recreational programs.

The town is seeking two adult members and one youth member between the ages of 14 and 19. The committee serves in an advisory role, working with town staff and elected officials to provide input on park improvements, recreation programming, special events, and long-term planning.

Officials say the youth position is designed to bring a younger perspective to the table and encourage civic involvement. The opportunity is especially well suited for students interested in community service, leadership development, recreation, environmental stewardship, or local government.

Committee members are expected to attend meetings, participate in discussions, and engage with the community. Appointments are made by the Town Board.

Town of Canandaigua residents interested in serving are asked to submit a letter of interest and relevant background information to Greg Reynolds, director of parks and recreation and committee staff liaison. Applications can be sent by email to [email protected].
