A quiet march filled downtown Corning after protestors gathered to oppose ICE and a fatal shooting in Minnesota, according to WENY. Demonstrators walked silently from Centerway Square to Nick Langworthy’s district office, honoring Renee Good, who died during an encounter with an ICE officer.
Organizers framed the “pop-up protest” as a show of unity and solidarity with Good’s family and others affected nationwide. The group sang, listened to brief remarks, and avoided chants to keep the tone reflective.
A few counterprotesters appeared, but the demonstration remained peaceful. Organizers estimated a few hundred people attended before ending with another silent walk.
