Geneva hospital plans January blood drive

Winter weather and busy schedules often drain blood supplies, and local organizers hope a January drive will help close the gap.

Geneva General Hospital will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Friday, Jan. 23, as part of National Blood Donor Month. The Red Cross says illness, storms, and holiday travel often lead to shortages this time of year.

The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Conference Room A/B on the basement level of Geneva General Hospital at 196 North Street.

Donors who give blood in January will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in San Francisco, along with a $1,000 gift card.

Appointments can be scheduled by contacting Alicia Ensworth at [email protected], visiting redcrossblood.org and using the keyword GENEVAHOSPITAL, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
