Lupardo steps down after 22 years in office

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo says she’s not running again, wrapping up a 22-year run in Albany, according to WIVT. She currently chairs the Assembly Agriculture Committee and represents Binghamton, Vestal, and the Town of Union.

Lupardo called the decision tough but said it’s time for a new chapter. During her tenure, she secured funding for major local projects, including Binghamton University’s tech complex and SUNY Broome’s event center.

She plans to stay active in the community — possibly returning to teach at Binghamton University — and focus on issues like healthcare and economic development in her final term.
