A long-empty house in downtown Corning came down this week as part of a broader cleanup effort, according to WENY. Crews demolished the property on West Denison Parkway to make way for new use.
Officials say the Steuben County Land Bank acquired the property last year and plans to turn the lot into parking. The county already owns a nearby building.
Another damaged home on Gorton Street is next. Crews plan to demolish it starting April 10, with the land expected to be sold to neighboring property owners.
