Avi Adam led the Big Red with two goals and an assist, while Alyssa Regalado, Beatrice Perron-Roy and Lindzi Avar also found the net. Cornell received assists from eight different players, including two each from Mckenna Van Gelder and Lily Pachl. Goaltender Annelies Bergmann made 20 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped both Clarkson attempts in the shootout.

Clarkson opened the scoring seven minutes into the first period, but Adam answered less than 30 seconds later. The teams traded goals throughout a fast-paced contest that featured four ties and three lead changes. Regalado tied the game early in the second period, and Perron-Roy later gave Cornell its first lead before Clarkson evened the score again before intermission.

Avar scored on the power play early in the third period, and Adam added her second goal to give Cornell a two-goal cushion. Clarkson responded with two power-play goals in a three-minute span to force overtime. Neither team scored during the extra frame despite multiple special-teams opportunities.

In the shootout, Piper Grober and Adam converted for Cornell, while Bergmann turned aside both Clarkson attempts to secure the extra point.
