A packed Auburn City Council agenda tonight includes new rules, infrastructure changes, and a financial audit presentation.
Council members are set to meet at 5 p.m. at Memorial City Hall for their first regular business session of the year.
The meeting opens with a ceremonial proclamation recognizing Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
What council will vote on
Council members are expected to take action on several resolutions that shape how the council operates in 2026.
That includes adopting the official City Council meeting calendar for the year and approving updated council rules and procedures.
Council will also consider adopting a new journal entry policy and a capital asset policy, which guide how the city tracks finances and property.
Infrastructure and contracts
One item on the agenda authorizes Change Order No. 2 for the Burgess Street culvert replacement project.
Council will also vote on an agreement with the Auburn Downtown Partnership for professional services.
These items fall under a broader slate of resolutions scheduled for action during the business session.
Audit presentation scheduled
Later in the meeting, council members will hear a presentation of the city’s annual financial statement audit.
The presentation will be delivered by Luke Malecki and Aimee Haensly of Drescher & Malecki, the city’s audit firm.
Public participation
Residents will have an opportunity to speak during the “Public to be Heard” portion of the meeting.
Speakers are asked to limit remarks to three minutes and address issues related to city government.
The meeting will be live-streamed on the city’s website for residents unable to attend in person.
