Troopers from State Police Williamson responded Dec. 23 to a report of a domestic dispute that had happened the previous morning.

Investigators say the man unlawfully entered the residence and got into a physical altercation with an adult female victim.

Police allege he obstructed the victim’s breathing, threatened her with a knife, prevented her from calling for help, and made statements that caused her to fear for her life.

Members of the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation later located the suspect at a residence on Route 104 in the town of Ontario, Wayne County.

Troopers took him into custody without incident.

State police charged the man with multiple offenses, including first-degree burglary, second-degree strangulation, first-degree criminal contempt, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and aggravated family offense.

Additional charges include second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree harassment.

Police processed the suspect at State Police Williamson and transported him to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment.
