Police have identified the woman killed in a downtown Cortland crosswalk crash as 63-year-old Kyong Searle, according to WBNG.
Officers say a minivan struck Searle around 2:30 p.m. Thursday as she walked east through the crosswalk at Main and Court streets. The driver, an Amazon subcontractor delivering packages in a personal vehicle, failed to yield while making a left turn under a flashing yellow signal.
Investigators reviewed downtown surveillance video and ruled the crash a tragic accident tied to human error and sun glare. Police issued the driver a traffic ticket, and the investigation remains open.
