A busy December agenda could bring new fees, project updates, and several spending decisions before the Penn Yan Village Board this week.
Trustees are set to meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Room 202 at Village Hall, with discussions ranging from generator maintenance contracts to changes that affect events and everyday services.
Big-ticket maintenance and bids
Several votes focus on infrastructure and upkeep. The board is expected to consider awarding a $46,000 bid to Finger Lakes Metal for a new standing seam roof on the municipal barn. The company submitted the lowest bid for that option.
Trustees will also review preventive maintenance agreements with Milton CAT. One contract covers the wastewater treatment plant generator at a cost of $12,106.42 over three years. Another covers the Village Hall and Firehouse generator for $11,868.65 over three years. Both agreements reflect higher costs tied to oil and battery changes.
Utility training and payment agreements
The Municipal Utilities Board is asking trustees to retroactively approve staff attendance at a free water and sewer training held earlier this month in Branchport. The training provided three water credits per attendee and used village vehicles .
The board will also review payment agreements totaling $9,435.30 tied to municipal utilities accounts.
Downtown Revitalization Initiative update
Public Works items include an update tied to the Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Trustees are scheduled to vote on a final change order with City Hill Construction.
The changes include credits for milling and paving two municipal parking lots and added costs for dock cleats, bumpers, walkway striping, stone dust paths, and interpretive signage. The adjustments balance out, resulting in a net change of zero dollars.
Fees, events, and public records
Later in the meeting, trustees will discuss the 2026 fee schedule and consider adopting an amended version by resolution. The board will also review and vote on the 2026 event application and supplies request form.
The agenda also includes a hearing on a FOIL appeal involving a denial of access to records, giving the board a chance to review that decision publicly.
The meeting includes time for public comments and reports from police, fire, code enforcement, and public works officials before adjournment.
