Bills overcome 21-point deficit to stun Patriots, keep AFC East race alive (full coverage)

The Buffalo Bills refused to let the AFC East be decided on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium, storming back from a three-touchdown deficit to defeat the New England Patriots, 35-31, and keep the division race alive with three weeks remaining.

New England appeared on the brink of clinching its first division title since 2019 after building a 21-0 lead and taking a 24-7 advantage into halftime. Instead, Buffalo flipped the game in the second half, scoring touchdowns on four straight drives to seize control and stun a home crowd that was ready to celebrate.

Josh Allen led the turnaround, completing 19-of-28 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns while adding 48 rushing yards. Dawson Knox caught two touchdown passes, including a 14-yard score early in the third quarter that sparked Buffalo’s surge. James Cook powered the ground game with 107 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, notching his eighth 100-yard rushing performance of the season.

Buffalo briefly lost the lead when TreVeyon Henderson broke free for a 65-yard touchdown run, one of two scores in his 148-yard rushing day. But Allen responded with a crisp seven-play drive, capped by Cook’s 11-yard touchdown run that put the Bills ahead for good with 6:48 remaining.

The defense sealed it late, forcing a turnover on downs when Joey Bosa deflected Drake Maye’s fourth-and-5 pass. Ty Johnson’s clutch third-and-2 run allowed Buffalo to kneel out the clock.

The Bills improved to 10-4, ending New England’s 10-game win streak and handing the Patriots their third loss of the season, dropping them to 11-3.
